Get Your Travel Documents’ "House" in Order

Over the past several years, the requirements for traveling abroad have dramatically changed. Even cruise passengers now need passports, for the the most part. Lines at passport facilities swelled in the mid 2000s when a series of U.S. security rules made passports required for more and more types of travel and border crossings.

You can apply for a passport in person at any of 7,000 U.S. Acceptance Facilities located at local post offices, municipal offices, courthouses and libraries. The process can take up to six weeks.

Most of these facilities also offer expedited services that take less than six weeks but require an additional fee. If applying in person is not convenient, I can work with a private company to help you obtain your passport. This will increase the cost but can be a life-saver in a last-minute situation.

Certain countries may also require a visa, even if you are traveling by cruise ship. Since the rules are constantly changing, we can help you navigate the situation.

Passports are valid for 10 years so this is a small price to pay to see the world.

Remember it’s never too early to start the travel documentation process. Having a valid passport can mean the difference between taking the trip of your dreams…and being stuck at home.
